The world is filled with people who feels like
God dealt them an unfair deal by giving them more than they can handle. The
Apostle Paul wrote: “We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and
sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were
under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of
life itself. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this
happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead” (2
Corinthians 1:8-9, NIV).
Man has not signed
up for problems but unfortunately “Life
Happens” – Jesus gives us hope by encouraging us to push through difficult times He says in John 16:33 "I have told
you these things, so that in me you may
have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have
overcome the world."
Why is Christian Counseling Important?
There's a common misconception
that people who go for counseling are "crazy," when in fact, most
counselees are ordinary people struggling with common, everyday issues and this
includes Christians. We
recognize the Bible as the inspired and infallible Word of God, containing the
ultimate truth and guidance for all aspects of life, it serves as the foundation and authority for our counseling approach. People pursue counseling and therapy for a variety of
reasons.
·
To
address major life changes, such as divorce, death or trauma
·
To
seek help in managing mental health conditions, like anxiety or depression.
·
They
have identified specific goals or issues that they wish to work on
·
They
have reached the end of struggling with the same issues day in and day out.
·
Others
may be encouraged by family, friends, or medical professionals to seek help
·
In
some cases, a person may be mandated to attend therapy as part of a court
ruling or by a parent or guardian (if the person is a minor).
·
Many seek out a Christian counselor for spiritual reasons.
